Who we are
We are Ralph and Aggie originally from Los Angeles, California. We started our YouTube channel to highlight all our travels and have recently started traveling more internationally after our dog Chibi passed away in June 2023. For the 15 years while she was with us, we traveled around the United States and even into Canada. We named this channel after her, and have dedicated all our future travels to her. We will use monetary gain through Youtube and other social media platforms to build our non-profit foundation Chibi's Friends. The non-profit is to help families pay for emergency care for their pets because we believe that no pet should be denied a second chance at life because of the inability to pay. Chibi
The late, great Chibi was our Pekingese fur-baby born in 2009 and passed away in 2023. She was with us for 15 and a half beautiful years and we had the pleasure to travel to many places throughout the United States and Canada with her. During her time with us, she was able to visit 40 National Parks and 33 States and state capitals, as well as the nation's capital of Washington DC and even up to Vancouver, Canada.
Chibi was a road-trip princess! From an early age, she enjoyed car rides and excelled at sleeping to pass the time on some long drives but not without an occasional potty stop where she marked her territory throughout the country. Her travels started in 2013 with our first major road-trip to Oregon and her final road-trip was across the United States in 2022 that brought her all the way to Washington DC.
During her life, Chibi encountered a few medical problems. When she was just 3 years old, she had a freak accident when a dog jumped out of a bush and she fell off a curb, causing a herniated disk. This caused her to be in severe pain and required emergency surgery. At the time, we could not afford to pay for a $10,000 surgery as I had just finished nursing school and had not built up an emergency fund to help with the situation. If it wasn’t for the help of my mother and sister who knew how important Chibi was for us, she would have not lived a long and happy life as she did. This is the inspiration for our non-profit foundation.
Later in life, Chibi had a severe eye infection that resulted in the removal of her left eye. But despite of her medical issues she had encountered throughout her life time, it did not deter her happiness and her enjoyment she expressed when we visited new places. Unfortunety at the age of 15 and a half, Chibi suffered from a large baseball size mass that developed on her liver, causing her severe pain and difficulty breathing. Surgery was no longer an option due to her advanced age and she was put to rest at home on her favorite spot in our house within our loving arms.
Chibi continues to live on through us and as mentioned before, we have dedicated all our future travels to her. We know how much she would have loved to travel everywhere with us and we greatly miss her.
